Update for Railroad-Professional 4
If you have already installed Railroad-Professional 4, you can update to the current version with the latest bug fixes. Click on the button below to download the update package and start the installation process by double-clicking on the downloaded file (and possibly another double-click on the setup file it contains).
Important Note:
After starting the installation program you may see a warning ("Windows protected your PC"), in which Windows's Defender SmartScreen warns you of a possible risk. We can assure you that the update is guaranteed to be virus-free and harmless. In the warning, please click on "More info" and then on "Run anyway".
The warning comes from the fact that software companies have to obtain a new 'code-signing certificate' every three years at the latest, which identifies them as reputable software developers. At the beginning of this year, the time had come again and we received a new certificate. Unfortunately, it takes several weeks (sometimes even months) for Microsoft's SmartScreen to recognize the new certificate. During this period, the aforementioned warning may appear (see example screenshots).

The following libraries have been added/actualized:
- Track library for gauge 0, KM1, Real Wood added.
- Track library for gauge 0, KM1, Wood Look added.
- Track library for gauge 1, KM1, Real Wood actualized.
- Track library for gauge 1, KM1, Wood Look actualized.
- Track library for gauge 1, KM1, Steel Look actualized.
The following bugs have been fixed:
- If the shape/length of a flex track was set via dialog (context menu), the colored markings of zones with too much curvature were no longer displayed for this track. They were only displayed again after saving and reloading the plan.
- When calling up detailed information on flex tracks/segments, the minimum radius of curvature specified therein was sometimes incorrect or not available at all.
- If the entry "track-specific" was selected in the selection box behind the option "Mark too strong curvatures" on the 'General' tab of the program settings dialog and the dialog was closed with OK, then called up again and the entry "overall factors" was selected in the above selection box, the 'Defaults' button was no longer displayed in full, but only a narrow, upper edge of the button. After restarting the program, the button was displayed again.
- If a curved flex track was first switched 'fixed' and then 'variable' (vario), the result was not a vario track, but a flex track with the original curvature.
- If libraries of version 3.7 were loaded into the program, the usual hint of loading a library in the older format was omitted. This also meant that there was no option to replace the libraries with their current version 4.0 counterparts. Instead, the old libraries were loaded, which of course do not have the new options (e.g. the new vario tracks are missing). However, libraries in older formats (3.6, 3.5, ...) were handled correctly.
- The supplied sample track plans had a format error and could not be loaded.
